  • Years 7 and 8 have sport each Wednesday afternoon.
  • Years 9 and 10 have sport each Thursday afternoon.

These afternoons develop individual skills and allow students to participate in sports as members of a team. St. John Paul College offers students a full range of sporting experiences.

St. John Paul College participates in a wide variety of sports. The College’s participation in activities ensures that no sport enjoys more opportunities than other activities. Each sport will follow a School Sport Australia (SSA) individual and a SSA team selection pathway.

The College has won state Catholic School’s titles in Basketball (7), Soccer (2), Tennis (2) and Hockey (1). In 2012 our Open Girls’ Basketball team won the NSW Allschools title and were placed 5th in Australia.

Where sports are not recognised by SSA the school may enter teams or individuals in school sanctioned sporting events/competitions.

The College’s priority is to NSWCCC and Lismore Diocesan based sport.

Twenty years ago Lismore Diocesan schools began organising gala days in various sports to limit travel and associated costs that families were incurring as many of these sports were only held in metropolitan areas.

SSA, NSW Allschools and NSWCCC have a comprehensive and busy sporting calendar. All interschool sport information has been posted on the noticeboard outside The Palace.
